The Rules1. Choose a specific, realistic goal that you can achieve by December 25th.
2. Post weekly updates (you choose the day) about your progress.
3. Decide on a gift (reward) that you’ll give yourself when you meet your goal.
Christmas is my favourite time of year and always has been. I love the "feeling" in the air. I love Christmas music, gift giving, preparing special meals, being with special people, the decorations, the person whose birthday we celebrate...EVERYTHING!
I love Christmas so much that I choose December 28th to have my Christmas wedding, almost 19 years ago. Then, 4 years later, on that exact day, my first born, Tiahna Suzanne came into this world! To be quite honest, it's a bit of busy week now, but I continue to look forward to all that Christmas holds. I made a decision many years ago not to allow the busyness of the season interfere with my celebration of Christ's birth and all that celebration entails.
When I read about the Christmas countdown challenge at Amy's blog...amoslionhorse.wordpress.com, I wondered if it was a good challenge for me. My goal has become so much more than losing 100 pounds that sometimes I forget that was my original intention. My initial goal wasn't necessarily to grow in maturity, faith, or my dealings with stress and anxiety. My goal was to eat less and move more. That is still my goal but it has developed into so much more. It's like the eating less and moving more has become secondary to other changes.
Even still, I want to participate in the challenge because I want to continue to see the scale move down and I have a significant number I'd like to reach by Christmas.
1. My goal by Christmas is to lose 19 pounds, for a weight of 199. To reach the glorious 100's by Christmas time would be the greatest gift I could receive. I don't think 19 pounds in almost 2 months is unrealistic for me. I may change my tune come the copious Christmas gatherings with fantastic foods!
2. I will post my results every Friday...my sneak peek weigh in before the official Tuesday weigh in.
3. My gift - seriously, being in the 100's is more gift than I can imagine. I'll have to give more thought to my gift...I'm thinking a new deck with a hot tub off of my bedroom, but somehow I don't think our budget can handle my imagination! Maybe, a trip to Stratford to see "Westside Story" and staying at a hotel with a hot tub. I think that would be a great gift!
Eating less, moving more and on the countdown until Christmas,
Dawne
