Day 363 - And the Oscar Goes To....

It's been a day for awards! Thank you ladies! My first award is from Joy, whose blog brings me JOY to read.

The rules are as follows:

1. Post who gave you this award

2. State 10 things you like

3. Give this award to 10 other bloggers and notify them with a comment on their blog.

Ten Things I Like

1. A cup of tea, a little milk in the cup first.
2. When someone in my family makes me a cup of tea without me asking.
3. Watching my children grow into fine young people.
4. Replacing old favourite foods with new, healthier versions.
5. When I catch my husband looking at me. So cute!
6. When my boy plays with my hair.
7. Shopping with my daughter.
8. When someone cleans up without me asking them to.
9. Travel and the memories we have from our trips as a family.
10. Running with my friend Krista.

It's going out to:

2. Deb
3. Kenz
7. Bill
8. Bob
9. Keri
10. Laura

My second award is from a fellow Canuck, Raegun. Thanks Rae! I like how Raegun always signs her name with two xx. Very British of you Rae.
The Rules:
1. Answer this question: If you had the chance to go back and change one thing in your life, would you and what would it be?

I wouldn't have participated in that first binge. It was that first binge that showed me that food could seemingly provide more than an answer for hunger. It was such deception. It was the highway to a lifetime of feeling that food controlled me.

2. The second thing you have to do is, pick 6 people and give them this award. You then have to inform the person that they have gotten this award.
1. 266 - she secretly, or not so secretly, covets every award. How can I not oblige?
3. Amy

3. The third and final thing is, thank the person who gave you the award.

Thank you sweet Raegun! You are a doll - one that runs!

It was a great eating day and I felt very in control. I was low on calories as I'm doing a little calorie cycling since my two pieces of cake yesterday! I had a 5K run, but not my fastest ever. My legs felt sore from my long run the other day, but I pushed through and felt better for it.

I'm feeling a bit anxious about my one year anniversary on Tuesday. I don't want this year to end. It's been so special. Of course, time carries on, so what if it's a new year, but somehow the last 365 days were unique. Perhaps it's the fact that I didn't make my 100 pounds weight loss in that time, which is an achievable goal. I "cheated" very little, so deep inside there is disappointment. Then, I feel guilty and immature for feeling disappointed because I know many people who would be thrilled to be down 85 pounds. It is an accomplishment, a big one, but not exactly on target. I thought I had worked it all through, but being totally honest, there is that sense that I didn't make it.

Eating less, moving more,
Dawne

Thank you for the award! You know that I LOVE awards. :D

I'll post it as soon as I can. :D

As far as being disappointed goes--well, that only makes sense. You were fully fixed on your goal and determined to achieve it. That was a good thing and is part of what got you to where yo are now.

The down side of that needed determination and focus is the disappointment you have for not hitting that goal.

So, feel as disappointed as you need to, then shake it off in time to start year #2 with renewed oomph. Ummm...that's just on Tuesday, so you have to be disappointed quick. chuckle.

Here's to a Superior September!

About the NO TREATS CHALLENGE
Will you run it from your blog as mine is new and I dont have many readers....
I will mention it in my blog tomorrow...but think you have more readers so we can make it bigger...we do it together.

Its going to be a hard one for me, but if I know I am doing with others it will make it easier.

Thanks for the award! :)

I understand being disappointed and know how awful plateaus can be, but try to remember that 85 pounds gone and 100 lessons earned is more importants than 100 lbs lost and no lessons learned. People can lose hundreds of pounds but never learn how to keep their weight off. I know you have learned how to maintain your loss! You have learned how to be healthy! And learning how to live healthy is so much more important than a number on the scale!
