Getting There!

Yr. 2, Day 261 - Day One of Consistency

I have begun my fast race to goal. It will take the following:

1. Perfect consistency - the kind that saw me down 80 pounds in 8 months. I cannot afford to have bad days here and there. There is a difference between a bad day or two a week and an occasional treat. I will not indulge in a treat until I am at goal. I have had one too many days since Christmas and it's caught up with me. The bad news results will be in tomorrow and you will see my ticker go up. I am not going to focus on that however. I'd rather focus on the excitement of my goal in sight.

2. Regular exercise. It was difficult to keep up my running throughout our cold, icy winter. I did not enjoy running in the cold and I seemed to lose my love for it. I am back to it - having run last night and tonight. The good news is that I was able to run the full 5K, although not at an impressive pace. As I was running, I could see how I could fall in love again with this form of exercise. I will have to devise a workable exercise plan for next winter because I don't plan on gaining weight again!

3. Consistent reliance on God. I have learned to trust God with my stress and that trust must be more than words. I cannot allow God to work in my life if I don't share with Him my feelings, thoughts and stress. This takes allowing time to spend with Him each day.

Breakfast - 2 poached eggs
Lunch - 1 cup of grapes, 1/2 cup of plain Kashi cereal
Snack - 1/2 cup Greek yogurt, 1/4 cup blueberries, 2 tbsp Kashi cereal
Supper - 1 chicken thigh with 1 tbsp bbque sauce (sugar in it unfortunately), 3/4 cup rice pilaf, 1 cup green beans, 1/2 cup Greek yogurt, 1/4 cup blueberries

Exercise - 5K run

I am not having any treats this summer.
It's about 100 days from Memorial day to Labor Day.
Can I go 100 days without a store-bought treat?
Hmmmmm. They do tend to sneak up on us!

Dawne (and Anne) it is so wonderful to see you both so full of determination! I'm following you and cheering you on!

Dawne! I'm so glad you're in! Your goals are my goals. I have a huge problem with moderation, and one bite sets me off. An occasional treat would be okay, but it never stops at occasional.

I forget sometimes that not everybody lives in a climate where it's usually always okay to exercise outside. Hats off to you for persisting beyond the weather!

I'll be cheering you on!

Hi Dawne,
Thanks for the compliments :)
The pizza was just a instant pizza dough(I bought at walmart, their brand)...rolled Super thin. Then tomato sauce with italian seasoning, garlic and onion sauce on it. Mozzarella cheese, taco seasoned ground beef and a bit more cheese on top of that.
But then! I topped it (after baking) with fresh cilantro, green onions, avocado and tomatoes and a bit of sour cream. :)
I could have skipped the dough even, I think....all those veggies with the meat and cheese were the perfect combo! :)
Good success. I know you can lose these last pounds. :)

Hey Sweet Dawnie!

Sorry it's been so long since I've commented. =( Bad friend.

I'm excited to see your renewed enthusiasm, and I'm on the same page! We are going to get to our goals, that we will!!! =)

Are you planning to weigh in once a month or weekly?

I'm doing the 17 day diet as soon as my book comes in, and I want to start walking too. Even though it just keeps raining and raining and raining and raining....

We can do this! We will do this!
